"I met Chuck and Peggy Elrod by taking the Concealed Carry Course that they

their students. The Elrods take the time to educate, assist and ensure their
customers are happy with their purchases and informed about their
I purchased a pistol from Bear Creek in June of last year. I found that the
pistol had frequent feeding failures regardless of the ammunition used. I took
the pistol back to the store. Chuck didn’t bat an eye. He promptly field
stripped the pistol right there and began examining it. He showed me several
areas where the machining appeared to be substandard. Chuck contacted the
manufacturer while I was there, and arranged for me to return the pistol for
repair. Since it had been fired, it couldn’t be exchanged. The repair was made,
but I was still having problems, and reported that to the Elrods. Chuck asked
me to bring in the pistol again. When I got to the store, he took three other
pistols of the same make out of the case, field stripped each one, and asked me
to look them over. I selected what I thought was the cleanest one. Chuck then
purchased my old pistol on the spot and transferred the new pistol to me. I’ve
not had a problem since.
That same care extends to Chuck’s gunsmithing. I’ve since had him repair
two guns, a pistol and a rifle that I’ve owned for thirty years, and both look
and shoot like brand new. I’ve also asked him to do sight and trigger work on a
used Ruger Single-Six I purchased elsewhere, turning it into a joy to shoot.
He’s always interested, enthusiastic and ready to talk. His passion about his
work is the highest I’ve seen. I can recommend Bear Creek Gun Shop and
Gunsmithing and the Elrods with complete confidence."
